Koimisis of the most Holy Theotokos. Logos

Each one of us tortures the question: What about us and what awaits us after death? A clear answer to this question alone we cannot find. But the Bible and first of all the word of our Lord Jesus Christ reveal to us this secret. It is also revealed to us the Apoltikio and Kontakio of this great feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the ecclesiastical hymns that are sung at this feast.

I want you all to understand why the death of the Holy Virgin Mary is called her koimisis. The great Apostle John the theologian in the 20th chapter of the revelation speaks of the first and second death. The first only death, which is inevitable for all people, awaits both the saints and the righteous. But the second, the terrible and eternal death, awaits the great and unrepentant sinners, who denied God’s love and righteousness, and are condemned to be eternally in communion with the devil and his angels.
In the Gospel of the same great apostle and evangelist John the theologian we read the words of Christ, which are very closely linked to what the revelation says:
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” (Ioan. 5, 24).

You hear that, you understand? I think that even you should be intrigued by the fact that all who obey the word of Christ and believe in his Heavenly Father, who sent Him, immediately after their death will pass into eternal life. There is no need to judge those who have a living faith in God and obey His commandments.

And to the great Twelve Apostles said our Lord Jesus Christ: “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Matt. 19, 28).
Judges and prosecutors will be in the terrible judgment of God the apostles of Christ and, of course, it is completely impossible to imagine the Virgin Mary and the pedpetual Virgin Maria, the Baptist of Lord John, the Great prophets of God, Elias and Enoch, whom God has taken alive in heaven, the countless multitude of the martyrs of Christ, the Holy priests of saints and the miraculous with the head of Saint Nicholas, Archbishop Myron of Lyias.
It is impossible even to pass through our minds the thought that they would be tried, which they heard from the mouth of Christ: “The Kingdom of God within You Estine” (Lk. 17, 21). In these great fighters of Christ, as in precious temples inhabited the Holy Spirit. Even living on Earth, they were in direct communion with God, because that is what our Lord Jesus Christ said “If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him. (Ioan. 14, 23)
Or the most holy Virgin Mary there was a temple of the Savior and in it she inhabited the Holy Spirit and from her holiness her womb received the human body the son of God, who descended from the heavens. That is why her physical death was not death but assumption, that is, a direct passage from the Kingdom of God within the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal life.

I’ve got something new in mind now. In one of my previous sermons, I told you that we have every reason to believe that the body of the Holy Virgin Mary with the Power of God became indestructible and ascended to heaven. This is what the Kontakio of the Great Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos tells us: “The Presbeiais of the Theotokos, and Prostasiais Ametatheton hope, tomb and necrosis and death, as Hagar life, mother, to the living Metestisen, the Medran oikisas aeparthenion”.

Beware: “Tomb and necrosis is not for Her.” Thinking of this, let us remember and what the Bible writes about the death of the greatest prophet of the Old Testament, Moses in 34, the chapter of the Book of Deuteronomy, that he died according to the Word of God on Mount Neva and was buried in the land of Moav. The tomb of this great prophet had to be forever a place of pilgrimage for all the people of Israel. But in the Bible we read, that: “No no one the burial of this until the day of its own” (Mon 34, 6). But during theTransfiguration of the Lord in Mount Tabor Moses appeared to the Lord and his Despot Jesus together with the Prophet Elias, who was snatched alive in the heavens.

I think it will not be a sin if we say, that the body of the great Moses, like the Body of the Holy Virgin, with the power of God, remained indestructible. That’s why his tomb is unknown.

To think, my brothers and sisters, the blissful assumption of the Holy Virgin Mary and to remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: “Amen Amen I say that my word of listening and believing in Pempsanti has everlasting life, and in Crisin K comes , but a passage of death to the Life “(Ioan. 5, 24). May God claim us to taste and we sinners this great joy, with the grace and Charity of our Lord Jesus Christ, oh the glory and the state plus the rule of his father and his panagiw spirit unto the centuries. Amen.
